Paula Hogan

[email protected]

This handsome 1971 144s belongs to one of our lady Volvo enthusiasts!! It has 250k on the odometer and Paula has used this turquios beauty as a summer daily driver since she purchased it in 1987.  We are proud to have her along with several other ladies and their Volvos in our Chapter!

David Moore

David's current Volvo stable consist of a 1957 444, a 1962 544 parts car  (anyone need parts?) and last but not least a recently finished 1993 940 Turbo Wagon with a fresh 5.0 V8/T5 conversion....(daily driver)

Hugh Lane 1967 1800S

This freshly redone from the "tinworm" has per the working odometer 45K "plus" miles, the 1967  odo doesn't have a sixth place. The exterior is  pearl white, interior is black and the engine was rebuilt when he purchased the car almost 40 years ago. This vehicle is being redone to stock, as he kept all the original pieces and purchased $1000 worth of trim, parts etc., in the early eighties. Some of them may need referal in their exact placement. Hugh has a genuinley facsinating story of its ownership history, which fortunately and ultimately turned out well !!

Colin Robinson

Realizing this sounds like a broken record but....Colin is yet another person we are very fortunate to have in our Chapter. He started as a mechanic at Bates & Cunningham (now Goodwins Volvo) in 1960 and in 1972 became the Service Manager of Portland Volvo until 1990. His knowledge and experience with servicing Volvos in his 30 year tenure is yet another feather in this Chapters cap!!! He presently owns a very nice original "bricks" an 85 245 D in exceptional condition and the last year XC 70!

Bob & his wife own this nicely appointed 1800 ES and more interesting classics !!  Below a late 240 wagon they've owned for many years !!  Note: the Sunroof & ATS Wheels (picture taken at the OHTM Foreign Car Festival 2014)

Ron & Charlene Lockwood

Ron & Charlene own this 1970 1800E. They are the third documented owners of this really nice coupe (color code 102 ). They also own a well kept 07 XC 70 "Daily Driver". Ron was the vice president of our club and another member we are very fortunate to have with his long history (40+ years) of working on and around "old" Volvos.

This is Ron & Charlene's daily driver, purchased from another chapter member. It's in exceptionally good shape with  just over 100K.

Mike Mack
1995 850 T-5R
Mike has been a member since the Maine Chapter's revival in 2014. As of May he is now Chapter VP.  We're grateful to have him and his family (of all Volvos) as members in our Chapter!! Now to keep the confusion down to a minimum, Mike owns a 95 T5-R and his son Colin owns an identical 1995 "Creme Yellow" T5-R Sedan!!  There is yet another 95 T5-R in "Creme Yellow" in the family and it is a Wagon!! His newest additon to the family is a very nicely preserved RED 97 850 T5 wagon!!

2014 XC 90

In case you haven't noticed there is a definite trend to Volvo in the Mack family. This low mileage XC is Mikes "Daily Driver"

1997 850 T5

Mike has recently purchased this  nice 97 wagon, the interior is stunning. With a bit "elbow grease" it come out stunningly great!!  Vehicle has just 100k and is a great survivor!! It's been mechanically (Fluids, filters, hoses, mounts---) refurbished back to a Stage 1.

Looking through our "old" Volvo files to refresh the memories. The first Volvo was a 66 122 2dr (73-74) traded for a 70 1800E  (74-83), Which is now owned by our former Chapter VP! Then a refinished 68 144  (79-82), and last but not least for our "first wave" of "old" Volvos was a 72 1800ES  (01-02) in Sun Yellow (sold).
In 2011 we began a "second wave", the first a P2, an Electric Silver 2007 V70 2.5T. In 2012 a "Silver" 2003 XC70 (sold 10/16), in 2013 a Lunar Gold 2007 XC 2.5T. Both the 07 models have had the "Polestar" optimization done. In 2014 we added a 71-142s "The Mustard Maiden" (150K),  in October of 2016 - a one owner 90 240 Wagon "The Silver Streak" (111 K), both are featured below.

Here's a couple pics of our "oldest" Volvo. The top left  as it sat in storage in  2014.  Top center, outside the storage facility after 20+ yrs of "off & on" sleep and headed to the shop. Top right engine compartment during the "refreshment".
Bottom row of pics, "under the hood" is done - but recently redone, now sporting the two correct HIF6 SU Carbs.  The new overdrive and it's badge are working great! At "our"national event in Sept of 24 it was an award winner in its class !!

        1990 240 Wagon

10/16  Here we go again, we have just had the opportunity to purchase this really clean, solid,  one owner Wagon (below). It's has a roof rack, cruise, AC and 111,191 miles...... Stay tuned as we fix its "nickle and dime" stuff and repair or replace the some of the usual for this vintage... Will follow up with it's progress!!  12/16  With the help of some "old" friends all the things that needed repair are done.  We're really looking forward to using this gem as our 2+ season "daily driver"..... 2017  was a fun year (logged 5K Miles) Vx IPD Cam and Adjustable Timing Gear, Bigger Fuel Injectors, Fuel & Ign control units from a 16V turbo , IPD Turbo Exhaust, 700 Series (15") Wheels, Front & Rear Suspension Bushings, Front Brake (Rubber) lines,  AC System redone!           The "Streak" is a real pleasure on the open Highway - 26/7 mpg at 70!!

2018 - IPD Sway Bar Kits, New Sachs Struts and mounts, Rear Shocks, Center Arm Rest, Bosch Pilot Fog Light Kit, "Euro" Headligths and Frt Turn Signal Units

2022 we have accumulated all the parts necessary for the conversion with an M47.
2025 a redone 93, 2.3 "Squirter" Block with a few external parts and pieces (Penta 531 Head-Simons Exh, etc.,) a revamped suspension and internal engine mods with original Volvo parts,  because of a certain age group of the owner, working Cruise and AC.
Newest pic above, under the Silver V70!

Waiting for a new owner.....
We've decided to call her the "Silver Streak".........
The only "dent" is on the roof line just below the center roof rack support.
Note: Surviving door pockets... hint: they're reversed!
1 "oops" in the Drivers "Pleather" seat amazing!! No matter we have a cloth interior of the same color lined up for installation.
Fortunately for the past couple decades "she" never saw winters!!!
