   1996 850 Wagon Platnum Edition   $2800 - SOLD!! 12/5/22

  In 1996 Volvo produced 1500 Platinum Series vehicles, 1000 Sedans and 500 Wagons, solely for the 96 model year !! This is one of only apprpoximately 400 Platinum wagons imported to the US (these are as rare as the 1995 850/855 T5-R's). When purchased the vehicle odo showed 133,287 and hadn't worked for years according to its second owner who purchased the vehicle in 1998. After installing a new speedo gear the odo quit again so...the odo gear cluster was changed by the sellers to an available working unit. The replacement odometer unit reading is 217 K+, and will increase as the vehicle is used occasionally. The actual mileage was 189,740 as of 4/15/22 we had put 1200 miles more than this time last year.               The engine is the 2.3 Litre Turbo rated at 222 HP and 221 ft lbs Tourqe, mated to a 4 Speed Auto.  Four matching (nice) Bridgestone 205/55/16 Potenza tires are mounted on the correct rims, all brakes and the ABS have been serivced to include new front coil springs.  Everything in the interior works with the exception of the AC and one seat heater needing more attention, the original premium audio did work great - at present it needs an amplifier. Front seats will need recovering and presently have (ugh) seat covers, rears seats are good. The right inner rocker has been rebuilt. The exterior body is in good shape for its age with a few nicks, minor dents and scrapes. The original Nivomat rear schocks were replaced with KYB's by the 2nd owner. The vehicle  license and Maine Inspection has just lapsed, it comes with clean title.                                 It drives and goes very well - for a car of this vintage !!
